Here at Wolf’s we love hosting beautiful events and projects for charity. Especially at this time of the year, we know how important it is to give back. From birthday art auctions to Wolf Pack runs we’ve been raising for a handful of selected charities close to our hearts in fun innovative ways!
Since becoming involved with the Brazilian Ju-Jitsu community, Jess has introduced Wolf’s to the Terere Kid’s Project; an NGO that supports the kids from the Cantaglo’s Favela, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The TKP offers free Brazilian jiu jitsu classes for the kids from the community. TKP runs alongside Fernando Terere BJJ school, where Fernando funds the TKP teachers from his academy budget and from supported contributions. We are proud to be one of the supporters of this Social Project and our fundraising began as Wild Wolf’s affiliation with Pedro Bessa BJJ school has grown.
Previous birthdays have seen Yin-a-thons for St Mungos, with a tag team of our teachers taking students through several hours of pure relaxation in return for donations for the Bristol based homeless charity and TKP, as well as our special seasonal event The Gift of Valentine – an evening of yin, chocolate and love songs as hosted by long time romantic Jess.
All proceeds for our Thursday night Wolf Pack run also go to St Mungos and the TKP, and we are delighted that for the month of December that the Bernrod has been joining us as he begins his epic challenge to run 300 miles in 24 days for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
And if you haven’t heard about our epic auction of the themes of the week, we raised £346 for our regular charities as well as one close to a members heart – a fundraiser for a family member who lost almost everything in Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. This really touched me, so when I hosted the auction I wanted to give 50% of the takings to this worthwhile cause.
Love, Helena x
